the problem is that you’re trying too hard to sound intelligent commenting on a YouTube video. You’re comments would be more appreciated somewhere else. Until I’m proved otherwise that’s what it is.

Ok, the loading car model part includes the downoad from the 3G server… the recognise part should work as I said

It works with 3G : first it recognizes the car, then it download it with 3G.

since youre pointing out mundane things, you should know that when you end a sentence with a quote the period goes inside the quotes. “like this.”

No, the part that was wrong was in the fact that you said “thats what it is”.

obviously when i said “easier solution.” it was an hypothesis. theres nothing wrong with my statement. the claim made in the video. i was simply providing an alternate hypothesis as to what is being claimed. the context of my post implies it was what “i thought”. your criticism goes both ways. who cares what you think? i certainly dont. i wasnt soliciting my opinion. if youve got an alternate hypothesis, id like to hear it. so far it looks like you can only point out the obvious.

let me present you with an easier solution. you make an animation of a car and then lay a picture of a car down. take a picture of it. then play the animation and make people think there was some sort of intelligence involved in transforming the picture into a 3d model. until i see otherwise thats what it is.

lol how can you see the backside of a car? This is how… you take a picture of the car… and it sends it to a database which recognizes the make and model of the car and sends you back a 3 dimensional model thats how. This is actually a real thing that is being developed today. That’s why it says its being developed for 3G cellphones, because it requires high speed internet in order to send the data and get a quick response.

You get it! Inside the software in the phone there is the 3d model of the car.

The software only recognise the car picture, it put the result in relation with that 3d virtual car model on which you can do colors/geometrical transformation.

It should work as I said… ;D

It doesnt matter, maybe the phone have the tecnology to do it, but HOW can it figure out the back of the car with just a simple picture of the front and a side of the car??

I only supose that the phone have the information of the car, and it just recognice it and put the virtual model of the car…

Look at the top of screen… there’s write “Video Call” !!
…and bottom you can see the time elapsed!

In my opinion the phone work as a webcam for the pc/server, that realize in real-time the output video and send it to phone in video call!

It’s augmented reality in the sense that the cell phone is taking information from the real world and then presenting it in a new way, which isn’t true to reality, but is useful. For example, the car in the photo was not a 3D model, but the cell phone was able to present it as one.

hows the app called? is it free? is there any link? We need INFORMATION, IN-FOR-MATION…
