its a realtime rendered 3d environment (like video games) that uses the paper as its reference point then it overlays the environment over the video which is why his hand can’t actually go through it.
that is what augmented reality means. imagine if you didn’t need the paper to do it though, if a computer could overlay reality with cg images to enhance the information you get from your eyes, it starts with a piece of paper and a webcam.
this is kool but isnt massive since you have to be on the site in order to get the damn thing 2 show. its just a set software that responds the design on the paper
