It is on the acrossair website and for sale on the apps store. It uses GPS, digital compass chip and the accelerometer and the Video to overlay the locations. Very clever using all the technology possible. Probably one of the smartest apps out there and more will follow like this.

This isn't fake, the iPhone is probably the only phone capable of this, but you're right, Apple needs to change their agreement in order for this to get in hands of the public.

Not exactly. Virtual augmentation differs much on the iPhone for two reasons: One, because the "HTC Magic" isn't a fully phone, it has a crippled OS, and that means the possibilities with VA are quite limited on the Magic. For example, I don' think the Magic would have games and software with these features that would run as fast as the 3GS, and that's because of the 400MG RAM on the iPhone. See my point? OH, and last thing, you only find about one video about AV on the Magic, cus it's crippled

I would really like to see how they have gained access to the low level camera functions without calling undocumented functions or using the platform headers... Interesting to see if this actually makes it to the app store.

Bloody restrictive platform.

"because the HTC Magic isn't a fully phone, it has a crippled OS"

That's a misleading statement. The crippling of the OS is dependent on provider and location/country. AT&T is crippling the IPhone by not allowing for tethering, for example. I don't deny that the 3GS is extremely powerful, but it has its own faults, mostly in Apple's restrictive (and bizarre at times) development policies.
