The castle is real. The 3D grey castle is there to show that the computer knows where the castle is in the image at any time.

I understand the image is read from a barcode? How are you able to touch/handle it’s contours?

it would be awesome if someone had a ryuk model and used in augmented reality to creep people out….

There are at the moment many very different techniques for similar effects.

i think the EyeToy for PS3 has the same mecanics

Such a technology is called haptic technology, and it is still a bit too geek even for us, I’m afraid !

that’s sweet. it would be cool if you could synthesize resistance resistance when touching an object, so that not only do you effect objects in the virtual image, they would effect you.

hi, i was wondering if you would be interested in combining my fluid dynamics simulations with this. for example, having cups and bowls in the scene and being able to scoop up water with a virtual cup.

The objects are pre-programmed (shape and/or texture, depending on the algorithm we use). Once the computer know that, you can move them freely.

How did you do this, I mean with what program?? It’s really awesome
