Over two years ago, one of our other contributors posted about Wikitude’s World Browser, an augmented reality travel guide that overlays tourist information on your camera view. They have taken their expertise as AR developers and applied it now to a GPS unit. Wikitude Drive uses your mobile’s video feed and superimposes driving directions on top . Instead of the often ambiguous “make a right turn in 100 yards”, with this app getting to your final destination is as easy as following a line. The biggest benefit though is the fact that when you are looking at your directions, you will still be seeing whats going on ahead of you; a nice additional safety feature to add on to the practicality of the item
